September is National Sickle Cell Awareness Month, and the Fredericksburg Area Sickle Cell Association, Inc. (FASCA) is continuing its mission to educate, support, and uplift individuals and families affected by sickle cell disease throughout the Fredericksburg area.

On a recent episode of Community Conversations on Black Fredericksburg Radio, host Twana James sat down with Rev. Herman Gladney, President of FASCA and Senior Pastor of Emanuel AME Church; Beth Sinkler, Vice President of FASCA; and Clara Nsenkyire, a Sickle Cell Warrior.

The conversation focused on the history and mission of FASCA, the importance of raising awareness about sickle cell disease, and the impact the condition can have on individuals and families. Clara also shared her perspective as someone living with sickle cell disease, helping listeners gain a better understanding of the challenges and realities faced by Sickle Cell Warriors.
